Treehouse Creations worked with local Vail Valley personal chef and cooking instructor, Tracy Miller. Tracy wanted her new website to emphasize her passion of cooking healthy. “I’ve learned that you want quick, healthy recipes that fill you up and taste good”, said Tracy.
The Color Cooking Mission
Colorful Cooking’s mission is to add a pinch of color to every meal with fruits and veggies.
Tracy wanted her audience to come back to her website for healthy recipes over and over again. She wanted the look to be clean, warm and inviting. She also wanted it to be easy to use. After we launched the initial website, we met to discuss the relevance and usability.
The first thing most people will notice on the home page is the large grid under the slider. After we launched the website, Tracy was carefully watching how her website was used with google analytics. She found that her bounce rate was higher than she liked. She wanted people to really get to the “meat” of the website, the recipes. We talked about this issue and what you see is the brainchild. This new look offers the user an organic way easily access her recipe section.
Tracy also teaches cooking classes around the Vail Valley. Her website is a way for her loyal clients to find out where and when she is offering those classes.
Tracy is somewhat of a local celebrity. She has a cooking show on the local TV8 channel as well as other appearances at Colorado Mountain College and elsewhere. She posts videos of how to cook a special recipe which is entertaining and easy to follow.
In addition, this WordPress site is easy for Tracy to keep up to date and manage, when she’s not whipping up new recipes.
The end result is a User Experience (UX) that is fun and easy to use within this warm and inviting personalized website.
